New Air freight service Europe-China by Maersk.

The new Maersk Air Cargo service is based at Billund Airport in Denmark with a destination Hangzhou and will be the first air link launched by Maersk Air Cargo between China and Europe.

The service debuted on March 20, 2023 to respond to “growing customer demand” at the Danish airport, where the company has established its freight forwarding hub. The service will be operated 3 times a week by the same carrier, with three Boeing 767-300Fs.

At Billund Airport, Denmark’s second largest, Maersk has a 4,000m Import and 13,000m Export Warehouse with separate areas for handling temperature-controlled products and handling dangerous goods . The stated objective of Maersk Air Cargo is to develop the entire Billund – Asia Pacific air corridor, with the aim of serving the Scandinavian economies and all of Northern Europe.

Furthermore, the Danish company has launched a new connection between the airport of Greenville-Spartanburg (in South Carolina) and Incheon, in South Korea, operated by the US company Amerijet International. In the United States, it has launched a new freight hub in Chicago, with the aim of serving customers who rely on the city’s two airports, Chicago O’Hare International and Chicago Rockford International.

According to what was declared by Maersk itself, the service currently also includes flights from Frankfurt to Greenville-Spartanburg International, for Chicago, Mexico City and Johannesburg. While Hangzhou is related to Chicago. The network includes flights from Shenyang Taoxian to the same US airport as Greenville-Spartanburg International.
