The Taiwan International Ports Corporation (TIPC), the company that manages the port and which is part of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, announced after an inspection that the tremors caused considerable damage, and in particular caused the swelling and the displacement of several tens of centimeters of many port infrastructures. Therefore, TIPC ordered the immediate suspension of activities in the port and the evacuation of personnel.
No damage was reported at other ports in Taiwan.
